How Do I Become a Derby Girl?
Ever picture yourself lining up on the pivot line before the whistle, waiting to hip-check your opponent? Or sprinting to the back of the pack proudly displaying the jammer panty, plotting your course through the sea of blockers? Well, this could be you!! Grand Raggidy Roller Girls holds open recruitment three times a year with our Basic Training program.
You will learn the rules of the game, proper safety techniques, and even how to skate.
We’ll need you to bring: A good attitude and the desire to work hard towards your goals.
All are welcome to join (potential female skaters and referees of any gender, 18 and up), but space is limited so register early at: contact@grandraggidyrollergirls.com

How Do I Become a Referee?
Do you find yourself yelling at the referees and calling penalties as the skaters go by? Do you enjoy having in-depth conversations about the rules of the game?
If this describes your roller derby experience then consider becoming a referee — a vital part of every game! No referees = no game. We need people: strong men and women who are not afraid to stand behind their penalty calls and enforce them equally without bias.
Can’t skate? We’ll teach you. Don’t know the rules? You’ll learn. Want to be part of a great group of people? Join us.
Referees are as valuable to the sport of roller derby as the skaters and equal members in GRRG. We welcome anyone who wants to try reffing with us. Please contact us for referee training information in our next Basic Training.

How Do I Volunteer?
Grand Raggidy can’t survive on skaters and refs alone! We depend on the dedication of our awesome squad of volunteers to help with everything from running the score boards to selling our merchandise. Aside from the adoration of dozens of derby girls, volunteers can expect to receive free admission to the bouts they are participating in as well as invites to special league events. What better way is there to support the sport of roller derby and learn the names and faces of GRRG than to volunteer with us? To become a volunteer and earn a soft spot in GRRG’s collective hearts, contact us at contact@grandraggidyrollergirls.com
